- Behind the patent-pending zero compression core is a high-velocity Neodymium catalyzed polybutadiene
- Patented HPF mantle layer encases the zero compression core with a speed-generating mantle for distance and higher iron spin rates
- Super-soft ionomer cover grabs the club face for higher spin and amazingly soft feel.
- Unique flat-bottomed, shallow dimples rip through the air to create a more stable, penetrating flight.
- It's the perfect option for players seeking soft feel, great distance and greenside control.
Distance was average, Spins great (2008-09-28)
Distance on all of my shots was about average compared to the cheap distance 2-piece ball I was using. The spin off of the driver was not near as obvious, my normal slice was more like a slight fade. On approach shots I ususally had a very hard time stopping the ball, I would aim for the front of the green for fear of rolling it off. For chips/pitches I would land it 8-10 feet from where I wanted the ball to end up. This ball was was within 3 feet on all shots and was withing 18 inches on most. I haven't played many of the expensive balls as I have only been playing for about a year and often loose numerous balls a round.
Easy to spin ball (2008-09-25)
I can spin the expensive titleist and calloway balls that cost $45 a dozen. The Wilson Zip is the only other ball I have found that I can spin and stop a ball on a hard green. I am not sure how it rates for distance off the tee compared to higher compression balls, but it seems OK. I have a fairly slow swing speed (regular shaft clubs)and a 10 handicap, 65 years old.
